esident Owned Park
really does mean just that.  At some point in years past a large enough % of the home owners in the Park got together and bought the land the Park sits on.  This form of real property ownership is usually called a cooperative or co-op.  No one has a deed to the ground their home sits on - instead each share holder, those who invest in the cooperative, have an equal share in the entire Park.  The co-op is usually a not for profit Corporation, it exists to benefit the members of the co-op.
There is a board of Directors
and share holders are all members.

 
Home owners that do not elect to buy a share are tenants of the co-op, pay monthly rent, enjoy the same amenities but do not own real property. (FS 723) 

Once a share has been acquired it stays with the home.
If a home owner without a share desires to buy into the co-op they certainly are encouraged but not required. 

Owning & occupying real property in Florida may allow you a "Homestead Exemption" of  $25,000. or $50,000. - reducing your property taxes by the amount of your exemption and also caps by % how much your taxes can be increased.
